All New BMW M4 CS Revealed: More Power, Less Weight
16 May 2024

The BMW M4 CS, or Competition Sport, returns after being discontinued in 2020 after only a few years in production. In case you forgot, the BMW M4 CS bridges the gap between the M4 Competition and the ultra-light M4 CSL. This model is designed to satisfy those who desire a car that performs exceptionally on both the racetrack and the road.

At the heart of the M4 CS is its upgraded 3.0-liter straight-six engine, which now churns out an impressive 550 horsepower (compared to 530hp provided by the new Competition model) and 650 Nm of torque. This power increase from the regular M4 Competition allows the M4 CS to accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 3.4 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 188 mph. The M4 CS not only delivers straight-line speed but also excels in agility and handling, thanks to its sophisticated torque splitter and lightweight construction primarily using carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP).

It’s not all just increased power though, the BMW M4 CS has its own new look with a whole lot of upgrades and changes. The M4 CS offers a unique kidney grille with red contour lines and specific 'M4 CS' badging, alongside striking headlights that incorporate yellow lighting elements.

At launch the new BMW M4 CS will be available in two BMW individual paint finished, Rivier Blue and Frozen Isle of Man Green Metallic, which is exclusive to the M4 CS! It can also be specified in Brookly Grey Metallic or Black Sapphire Metallic.

The sporty aesthetics are matched by an equally impressive interior, featuring M Carbon bucket seats wrapped in luxurious Merino leather, an Alcantara steering wheel, and high contrast stitching that emphasises the vehicle's performance capabilities.

You can also expect to see BMW’s state-of-the-art 'Curved Display', which combines a 12.3-inch digital cockpit with a 14.9-inch infotainment screen, providing seamless access to navigation, entertainment, and vehicle settings. Alongside this you will also receive a Harman Kardon sound system, two-zone air conditioning, and a host of driver assistance and safety features like parking assist and front collision warning.

The BMW M4 CS comes with a price tag of £117,100, compared to the regular M4 Competition which is priced from £90,845. For those interested in a car that’s designed as much for the racetrack as it is the weekly shop, order books for the M4 CS open at the end of May, with deliveries expected to commence towards the end of 2024.
